* Ensoniq DP/2 v1.02 (latest OS version) *

This was a precious (and free!) upgrade for this nice effects processor; here are the release notes, taken from the archives of the Ensoniq site:

DP/2 Version 1.02 Release Notes

If you have a previous version, and are experiencing any of these items, you may want to have your unit upgraded. In the DP/2, the software version is displayed on the wake-up screen when the unit is powered up.

The following items were addressed in the 1.02 ROM release:

- Toggling the Edit buffer can cause audible glitches. The dry signal is heard briefly.

- When toggling the Edit/Compare button after an edit with constant audio input, the signal momentarily fades to silence and audio pops

on return.

- The first edit of any algorithm after re-initialization causes loud pop in audio.

- DP/2 fails to restore the original sound when Cancel/Undo is pressed after either 1) selecting a new 1U preset in units A or B (when Input Select=Mono), or 2) after selecting a new 1U preset in unit B (when Input Select=Stereo). Bypassing and Unbypassing Unit A fixes it.

- When in a 1 source configuration, with both Units in parallel and killed, audio bleedthrough occurs when Unit B downloads a new 1U Preset.

This upgrade is available through your local Authorized ENSONIQ Service Station. For the location of the nearest service station to you, contact ENSONIQ Customer Service at 610-647-3930, or the Accessories Department at 800-553-5151.

There is no charge for the ROM upgrade kit. The service station may charge a nominal bench fee to perform the upgrade.

Last but not least: if you wish to get rid of its crazy external multi-voltage power supply (e.g. when it would die, making you crazy about finding a replacement...), look around the web for the "PicoPSU" solution aimed at compact PCs: I think I will go that way sooner or later! ;-)
